NHEG obtains information about you when you join Northern Holocaust Education Group [NHEG], request information, or sign up to any of our services or buy services/other from us. This statement explains how we look after that information and what we do with it. As a membership organisation nheg can contact you with information of legitimate interest as well as for legal reasons.
We have a legal duty under the Data Protection Act and General Data Protection Regulations [GDPR] to prevent your information falling into the wrong hands. We must also ensure that the data we hold is accurate, relevant, adequate and not excessive.
Normally the only information we hold comes directly from you. Typically this is contact information which includes your name, snail mail address, email address, phone number[s] and organisation you represent [if any]. It is required that you provide your contact information. You do not have to provide any additional information unless you choose to.
We store your information as securely as we can on our volunteers’ computer system[s] and we restrict access to those who have a need to know. We also provide guidance for our volunteers in handling the information securely.
We will not share the information you provide to us with third parties without your permission, unless they are directly involved in delivering an event or other services (for example dietary restrictions being passed to an external caterer). We do not share our database for marketing purposes with other organisations. Other disclosures of information would only be made if we are required to do so by law.
We will use your information to contact you in future to tell you about our events as well as other legitimate information. You have the right to ask us not to contact you. We aim to provide a clear method for you to opt out – usually by you emailing/contacting: administration@northernholocausteducationgroup.org.uk
You have the right to a copy of the information we hold about you. To obtain a copy please email us. We aim to reply as promptly as we can and, in any case, within the legal maximum of 30 days.
